Never has a dog needed to swap his abusive metal cage for a Daisy Chain Of Love more....
Daisy is a 7 year old staffy cross, his history is sketchy but until a couple of weeks ago he lived in a 6ftx4ft metal cage on a barren industrial estate surrounded by concrete and metal for most of his life with a scant mat for his bed. He was lucky if he got out of the cage for five minutes every other day....some days he didn't get out at all and it's unsure whether anyone even visited him. He is fearful and who can blame him. He is highly under socialised, has the potential to react and is not keen on women at all. He won't ever be a domesticated dog but we feel he deserves love, a warm house to call his home, with a comfy bed and toys to play with and he really needs to feel the Dorset grass under his paws and run in the country air. He was due to be put to sleep but having seen Niall Lester's post needing urgent help we were not going to let that happen so we stepped up and in he comes so we can turn his nightmare into all his wishes come true. He has been in Emergency Boarding for the last couple of weeks and Linda Emmans has been working with him and reading to him to gain his trust and get him used to female voices and he has made little steps of progress by taking food from her which is wonderful.
Today at last, he is coming home into a brand new Haven paid for jointly by our members donations, the lovely Kayleigh Hobbs and the amazing Team Keisha and Pat Myers has funded his transport as well as his EB fees which we can't thank her enough for. Because of his complex issues and fear his move is a tricky one and we would like to say huge thanks to Simon Belcher who is a professional dog handler for handling him and for driving Mr Daisy him home to us. We know we have a lot of work to do with this boy but we think he is worth it.
Today is the day that the rest of your life starts, Daisy and we can't wait to watch you become the happy lad we know you can be.
Thank you so much to Niall Lester, Pat Myers, Kayleigh Hobbs, Sally Cottrell, Sally Marie Crocker, Carole Haskins and Lucy Bastafield, all the members of Team Keisha and of course our own wonderful supporters for helping us to bring this lad into safety.
