New Girls On Board & A Loving Memorial

Safe

Meet our two beautiful sisters..... Lucy and Tallulah who arrived on our hill in Dorset yesterday, tired hot and anxious but safe.

They are a bonded Pair obviously, Neapolitan Mastiffs, they are three and a half years old. Owner handover under difficult circumstances and they needed to move fast...they are generally anxious, dog aggressive and don't like new people. They are not spayed or vaccinated and one girl is 66kg which means it's going to be expensive. Tallulah is a cuddlebug but has a multitude of problems which include a cataract on one eye and hip dysplaysia which is likely going to need double hip replacement. She is on medication currently and 'immobilised when it's bad'. Lucy is very grumbly but that is understandable and we will be working on her issues once she has had time to settle in.  All in all they are in a bit of a state for dogs so young and we can't say what can be done about Tallulah's eye etc until our vet has looked at it but obviously anything that can be done will be done. She will have her first consultation at the vets next week and it will be sedation and hip x-rays from there on in so we can sort her out and get her comfortable again. They will also be having a good look at her eye. Welcome girls x

Of course all of this is going to be expensive and we have already started fundraising for their treatment. We won't have an estimate for a couple of weeks but we know we are looking at a fair few thousand which is a big task for us so do please share, get involved with our fundraisers on our dedicated Facebook Fundraising Group and if you have any spare pennies to donate we would be so, so grateful.

We have raised £250 so far and we had an amazing donation from a wonderful friend of the sanctuary to pay for the girls Emergency Boarding but thanks to another wonderful sanctuary friend we were able to bring them straight into thier very own house so we have added that to thier treatment pot which currently stands at £1,100 which is a fabulous start.

Sadie's Legacy of Love..

Gorgeous Sadie Lady

We have to say enormous and very heartfelt thanks to Julie Mott and her much missed and adored companion, Sadie who gave a memorial donation to fund a double house for the girls. Julie sadly lost Sadie Lady to Lymphoma in March of this year. She was one in a million - so obedient, so loving, so gentle and the most wonderful friend. She loved everyone and they loved her in return and is missed so very much.

Julie said: "She had been used for breeding and then just dumped when she was too old to have any more pups. I know she would want me to help in some way to show love like she had, and to help some other poor unfortunate dogs who find themselves without a home through no fault of their own. Julie xxxx."

We can't thank Julie enough for this wonderful donation but Sadie will live on through us as we help Tallulah and Lucy and many others who will benefit from her house in the years to come. Thank you beautiful, Sadie...always remembered. Sleep tight x
