Opening Our Hearts For 'Just another dog'

My name is Dozer....I am two years old and I was just another dog..

Another unwanted dog who didn't have a good start, another face, another sad boy with a sad story and a bad past.....I am the product of how I have been treated and I am damaged...too damaged to go into a home, too strong, too big and too risky for most so many others my life hung in the balance and my future was to be determined by a few typed many said 'Full' and others 'Too risky for us' ...I so wanted to live and show someone that I could be better, that I could love and that I could be a good boy but it seemed my fate was sealed. I've never been shown how to be, I am highly reactive, unpredictable and hyperactive...who could ever want me?

I gave up....I didn't know that there were an army of people working to help me...exhausting all thier contacts...people who had never even met me were trying to save my life and finally someone said yes and someone came to get me and told me I was going to Last Hope sounded like heaven to me. I went into specialised EB to be assessed but I slipped and I bit a handler. I couldn't express it but I was so sorry. It became clear that I would need a very special place where myself and others would be safe. The cards turned to my side again because Last Hope knew where I could get my last chance and yesterday I moved to Dorset and into a holding kennel at this wondrous place called The Birkett-Smith Animal Sanctuary. Here I will be safe, here I will learn to be the best I can be without fear, without pressure or I will be last <3

But now I am here I need some help please, due to the urgency of my situation I have come into the sanctuary fast and unfunded and I need funds for a house of my own and to cover my vet costs....I need about £1,000 so anything you could spare would be a lifeline to me and help my rescuers who put everything else aside to save me.

Thank you so much for caring enough to see me as something other than just another dog, Dozer x
