Last week a post went viral around FB about Simba, he was as close to being put to sleep as a dog can get because of his extreme behaviours. We had no space but we just could not get his little face out of our heads so we dug deep in the empty pot and found the money to buy him a new haven and this gorgeous boy got his last chance at a second chance and will be coming to us within the next 3 weeks for an SOS Haven Space.
There was much debate on Facebook as to whether a dog this reactive should be 'allowed' to live given his extreme behaviours but we felt he deserved a chance to shine and although it's early days we think he is going to do just that.
Today he was visited in EB by a good friend of ours who took him some treats and left a supply for him for the next couple of weeks. He had a lovely bath, which he was lifted into and had his anal glands sorted and was generally pampered. He took it all in his stride.
He has had no negative human reaction since being in EB, bar the odd bark when he first sees someone new...in fact he has been as good as gold. He does not seem that phased by other dogs either having passed them in kennels or being near them! So altogether great progress for the boy. Well done Simba...we can't wait to meet you in person.
We worked together with Cathy Holding to secure this boy and we are both actively fundraising for him. If you would like to make a donation towards his care we would be very grateful Donate
