COVID-19 has affected animal charities deeply. The sheer number of requests our own charity has received for spaces in such a short time is truly frightening. And it's not just us, the lock-down has created a rise in breeding and the easing of lock-down and return to life and work has created a glut of 'disposable' pets. Rescues and Sanctuaries across the UK are already having to make room for unprecedented numbers of animals whilst thier ability to fundraise is severely affected by the pandemic and we are starting to see many of them buckle and fold under the pressure. But you CAN help by supporting this appeal...
BSAS are honoured to be one of Support Adoption For Pets Charities Of The Year again this year and as part of the Charity of the Year program we would normally be asked to support our local Pets at Home store team by joining them in store to fundraise. Sadly due to COVID-19 and in order to stay safe we are unable to do that this year. However with your help the fabulous Support Adoption For Pets are still supporting their charities through thier Save Our Rescue Centres Appeal. All you have to do to support thier charities is to make a donation at the till when you shop at any Pets At Home Store. The event runs from Monday 8th June to Sunday 5th July across all Pets at Home stores and the store that is supporting us in particular is our local Yeovil Pets At Home so if you are popping in for any essentials for your pet do please think about helping them to support us and all the other rescues and charities that are finding themselves in dire straights at the moment.
